This is a great exercise. I use it as part of a circuit with 32kg KB's....it burns.

I did 16 kg kettleball like 50 times ;)
And 24 kg about 30 ;)

I just tried these movement, I can really feel it in my side (obliques) abs, feels great.
I would suggest that you start with a light KB until you have the movement and form.
