If you were in Dayton Ohio in the early-mid 90's and followed local music, you probably knew of bands like Tim or Life in the Circus... well, I played in the band that opened for them more times that not. lol... ±boyd helton, as we were called. Melodic pop rock, with a sense of humor... If I had it my way back then, I would have called it Rush meets the Pixies meets REM meets the Grateful Dead... but you can't always get what you want.
As an older man now looking back. I'm very proud of this band.
Here are a few of our signature tracks for you to chew on.
-Jon
Track Listing:
Spaceman Spiff (Part one of a trilogy)
The Tree
Chrome Yellow
Sorry that the audio is rough. These tracks are taken from an old cassette tape recorded from the sound board at Canal St Tavern in 1993. I cleaned them up as best I could.
Dayton Rocks with great groups resounding like Boyd Helton!! Tell us who played what and who was the singer. And mostly, thank you for sharing this Gem, Jon, with all of us that are not so fortunate to cruise around in your glove compartment! TEAM VOID

Thanks Team Void.. I sent y'all a pm with the names of everyone involved with boyd.
BH was a special band... We didn't have a huge following, but the other bands... the bigger ones... would always show up for us. I always thought that was cool. It was a good scene in those days. I hope that it is like that now.
Oh, just to clarify ..the picture in the vid is from a show in Muncie, Indiana... not Canal St..
