With over 1 billion units sold since 1959, Barbie is the # 1 selling doll of all time and a cultural icon; inspiring over 70 designers including Calvin Klein, Gucci and Versace. Totally Hair Body - launched in 1992 - remains its most popular doll, with 10 million units sold in three years (1992-95). In recent years, Mattel faced heightened competition from MGA Entertainment's Bratz dolls, but in 2008, it won a copyright infringement lawsuit. Today, over 90% of girls aged 3 to 10 years own a Barbie doll.
