You can't see them only if your teeth are as white as the braces. Mine aren't so they show and the contrast makes my teeth look really dark.
And I wouldn't call them "comfortable." I never forget I've got them and at first I could hardly eat at all because of soreness. That lasted maybe 7-10 days (but will likely return when they tighten them again) . And every time you eat, it's a big round of brushing and flossing, which is a PITA.
But.I've lost 3 pounds!
