  • I remember Gene BSB (Before Snowbird) when he was a regular on CBC's Singalong Jubilee. I just enjoyed a concert this evening by his daughter Catherine which led me to seek out some Gene content. Decidedly enjoyed this one. Go look for Ron Hynes "Godspeed" written in memory and frustration at Gene's demise.

  • @rdvqc I have been lucky enough to meet Ron a couple of times, and "Godspeed" never fails to bring a tear. Maybe I'll post it if you-tube doesn't have it already. Keep supporting live music...it's the only honest way to make it in music these days.

  • According to Anne Murray's book, 'All of Me', the credit belongs to David Carr/CBC Still Photo Collection.

  • @dfs171 Thank You.

DID,NT WANT TO DISTRACT THE MOURNERS rest in peace Gene

  • Wow Great !

  • i have looked for this swong for long THank you

  • There are a couple of versions of God Speed around YouTube but one with good sound quality would be a boon.

Live music is wonderful when it is available. Enjoyed a great evening with Canada's "Lord of the Strings", J. P. Cormier. Amazing musician, song writer and singer.

Next best to live is independent recordings. More that half of my collection is from independent labels - even many back to the days of vinyl. You know if I remember Singalong Jubilee, I date well back into the vinyl days.

  • Ooops, I should have probably listened to this studio version first. This is quite a rarity! The sound here is very smooth, much like Anne's later recording. Thanks again for sharing!
