  • I've read that this exercise works many of the leg muscles, but it doesn't look like the legs are used all that much. What are the main muscles that it works?

  • being an explosive exercise the hips are involved in this exercise. For working more leg go with squats or deadlifts (and there variations).

  • do these have the same effect as barbell cleans? and could this exercise help improve your speed and vertical jump?

  • barbell cleans and more effective for overall strength and power development. I like dumbbell cleans because it is easier for people to learn because the catch is easier with dumbbells.

Since it is a power exercise it will cross-over to help with speed and vertical. Just make sure to focus on technique and speed. Don't used too much weight so the movement is slow.

    Hope that helps.

  • @athlete365 is this good for building shoulder muscles?

  • jeez look at this fag with his pom poms trying out for the chair leading squad, what a loser. i am not taking advice from a man who cant even grow his own hair.

  • Number one excercise if u want to injure youreself ;)

  • I was told that the olypmic clean and press was the best exercise for burning fat, true?

  • @Matt1986b what I do is have the dumbells on the floor so you Deadlift them into the position he is handling them in and then press it from there, doing this rep after rep, works more muscles, and it properly mimics the proper Olympic Lift.

  • Great video. I just recently started using this exercise.

  • hang clean is a power exercise: you cannot do it with dumbbells... at least not with a significant weight (and a 50kg dumbell is too big!).

  • what is the difference betweeen these one and the kettlebell one

  • do you have to do the little jump with these?
