I have been and may soon return to being a computer technician and I did recently disassemble my keyboard to fix an electrical short in the wiring. there are other problems and I should just replace it but it is so comfortable to use. however, it is a USB keyboard. I avoid disassembling laptops because they require much more tactful finesse than a desktop computer.
