Thanks for sharing the info on antique cameras!
-
@gmaildotcom probably because of the aperture
-
well it also depends on how clean the rangefinder is. obviously if its that old and a bit dirty and dim its going to be difficult to use in low light situations
-
I have used my Super Ikonta B, for low light work inside a night club, shooting a rock band, I got good results, but my Rolleiflex is much easier to focus, and faster to use.
-
The range finder in a Zeiis Ikonta is very dark and has a small ocular just to make it worse. Generally I agrre with You but not in this case.

"Range finder cameras are not good for low-light situations"
Someone doesn't have a Yashica 14!

Ditto to what the other fella said.
Rangefinders are the best cameras for low-light situations.
I don't need a flash, a tripod or even high ISO rating to get a sharp image.
Go back to school !
"Range finder cameras are not good for low-light situations" - completely untrue: The lack of a Mirror eliminated most of the vibrations that causes image blurriness.
