@sadakosghost Sounds like you have used a FET or MOSFET?

@sadakosghost the FET you're using might be dead or you inverted the drain with the source.
Try using a 1-50 megaohm resistor between the gate and the source.
The higher resistance the more sensitive will be but it will react a lot faster to the electric fields.
Cascade from the FET to a bipolar (in darlington) and make a time base from it (a 1-10uF from the base to ground) to obtain a longer pulse from the led. ;)

can you cover the resistor with some sort of conductive material that looks nicer than just an exposed resistor?
This seems like something Tesla would do when he was bored lol.
