20 Years In Heaven: A Tribute To Jim Henson

This past Sunday (May 16, 2010), marked the 20th anniversary of the death of Jim Henson. I know we ALL have wonderful memories of the characters he created! Kermit The Frog stands out, of course, along with the many other characters of The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, and Fraggle Rock! (Note: Although the preceding were not the only shows he worked on, they were three of my favorites from childhood so they are featured in the majority of the video). I could'nt think of any better song to use in this tribute than "The Rainbow Connection", so I found a great instrumental version of it.

RIP Jim! We miss you and thanks for the memories!

jim died only three months after i was born. his creation, the muppets, were what made my childhood what it was. its still a big part of me. its sad that im just starting to learn about him. i can see what an amazing and talented man he was. i wish he was still alive so i can have the chance to tell him thank u for bringing so much smiles and laughter in my life. But what makes me smile is that he lives through his work. Rest in Peace Jim Henson

When I think the name Jim Henson, I think of a man who gave inanimate creatures to convince us that even things that are not organic can have emotions. But one fact remains that we know there was love in every Muppet Mr. Henson created.
