World cup - eat your heart out! In Italy, every June, the brutal football sport of 'Calcio Storico' is played. It's a game of football unlike any other, violent and with no-holds barred.

In a game where the only rule is that kicking to the head is forbidden - it's not surprising when a player states, "once you're out there, it really shakes you". As men grapple, punch and watch their opponents bleed, the trainer of the Red Team - who are playing today - describes the sport as "the strongest emotion I've ever felt in my life".
