Scots born Alistair Hulett has written many great songs many about his life in Australia while lead singer of the group Roaring Jack which inspired his album Dance of the Underclass. This track from that album has been covered by Roy Bailey and others and paints a picture of a late night out in Sydney. Alistair's website is www.alistairhulett.com and this recording from an appearance at the Girvan Folk Festival was made with his co-operation

  • "There's no conversation only the small talk mostly it's wild and absurd.." I always identified with that.

It seems like only yesterday, hard to believe he's gone.

  • We have lost a great talent, voice and conscience in AH. I've always admired his work immensely and him as a person. I so related to this song and small seaside town nights out.

  • Love your poetry

    Love your lilting melodies

    Love the memories

Regret not seeing you play more than I did

    I dance with the underclass

    and support the underdog

I hope you are comfortable that you have inspired me as such

    Goodbye dear man!

  • Thank you for posting this recording. Such a wonderful talent lost. RIP Alistair. So true - a real feeling for real people!

  • He might as well be singing about King's Cross in London. Not that I've been to there lately...lol Again, another cool tune. Thanks.

  • Very good, liked the song and charactor.

    THANKS,
