MQM would stand in the way to create divisions in the Armed forces
Students can do wonders if they are given support and appreciations
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has that the MQM would foil all attempts to create division in the army. The MQM would stand firmly in the way of all plots against institutions responsible for the national defence. The country needed a public revolution on the lines of the French revolution. The political and military leadership should call a round table conference to find solutions for the internal and the external problems being faced by the country. He was addressing a large gathering of students, young professionals, educationists, scientists, economists, representatives of corporate sector and others belonging to different walks of life at the closing ceremony of the "Re-engineering Pakistan" exhibition held by Academic and Social Circle, a social wing of All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organizations. Members of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM were also present on the occasion.
Mr Hussain praised the central committee of the APMSO on organizing the "Re-engineering Pakistan" exhibition and said that if the students were supported by the government Pakistan would not need to ask the USA for the drone technology.
He said that the students had practically demonstrated that they had the capability to make the country stand on its foot. They had proved that they had the ability to pull the country out of the myriads of problems like poverty, unemployment and economic degradation. They had the potential to make a turn-around in every department and bring the country in list of developed countries.
He said that the country was facing a severe energy crisis. Shortage of gas, electricity and drinking water had become major problems for the people. The students had proved that the problems could be solved by adopting scientific methods and modern technologies. Electric power could be produced from the sun. The solar energy could be used beneficially in a number of ways. Drone technology could also be developed locally.
He said that the students of more than 50 universities that took part in the exhibition had proved their mettle. They had given a clear message that there was no dearth of able and educated youths in the country. It was high time that these students were given opportunities to work for improving their abilities.
He said that there was a dual education system in the country. The rich had had educational institutions whose standards were at part with foreign institutions. The schools and college meant for the poor and middle class students did not even have basic facilities such as water, electricity and desks. The poor were taught in Urdu medium schools and colleges while the reach were given education in English medium institutions that enabled them to qualify for administrative positions in the country. If English were the only language for progress and development then China, Korea, Japan, France and Germany would not have made such advancements.
He regretted that education was not imparted in the national language in the country. The administration of the government and the institutions of national defence was also not done in the national language. This was the greatest hindrance in the way of the progress and prosperity of the country. This had inculcated a sense of inferiority in our minds and it had been assumed that unless we accepted aid from the IMF and the World Bank, Pakistan could not be run.

He declared that if the MQM got an opportunity to form a government then it would implement a uniform system of education in the country. Medium of instruction would be either Urdu or English without any distinction.
He said that all the noted scientists that had been produced by the country like Dr Abdus Salam and Dr Abdul Qadeer had to work hard for getting education. They were all from the middle class. The feudal class did not produce any scientist.
He said that there was a conspiracy to create division in the armed forces and other institutions responsible for the national defence. The elements criticizing the armed forces might do so but they look upon their misdeeds as well. He said that the MQM would firmly stand in the way of creating a division in the armed forces and defence institutions.
