Actually, I have seen a lot of choral pieces that are pretty darn good. A lot of the Broadway medleys that I have done have been pretty good.
"The Lion King on Broadway," "Les Miserables," "Phantom of the Opera," "Things that Never Die" is an outstanding piece, "If Love Should Count You Worthy" by James Mulholland is outstanding. I'll agree, however, that a capella does seem to be FAR BETTER for choral pieces.
Z. Randall Stroope is outstanding in that respect.

@FrizzKid05 Nope. His choral works a cappella could never restore faith in accompaniment.

Only Lauridsen could restore my faith in accompanied choral works.

Wonderful! Such a great piece. This choir has an impressive sound - blended and solid for sure.

Absolutely fabulous.
I had the opportunity to do this with a British Columbia provincial choir, and it was not nearly as good as this.
This is beautifully done.

WOW! This was absolutely beautiful. What a great sound; especially the men. The blend and dynamics were outstanding.
