In 2008, Birmingham BMX Club formed with the aim of building a new, national-level BMX track, and creating a BMX racing scene in the city once again.
Many meetings later, and with the support of Birmingham City Council, British Cycling and Sport England, our planning permission has been granted for a new track at the same Perry Park location as the well-known 1980s venue.
Not only that but we have been successful in our bid to host the BMX World Championships in 2012. This vid covers the history of the track, the story so far, and the riding of the temporary track before the full build begins in early 2010.
im so proud of what youve achieved here and it shows if you get pro active people on the case anything is possible .i used to race for wordsley warriors back in the 80s but i lived in west brom because there wasnt much local....other than birmingham wheels 'im really looking forward to bringing my son down soon ......well done

Superb work, well done guys, that looks great fun and i look forward to visiting again in the next 12 months. Being an ex- Tamworth Crusader i used to race there quite a bit in the late 80's through to the early 90's and it was my 2nd track.
It looks like Tamworth could be re-born over the next 18 months, as it's been in the local news that they're trying to get a piece of land passed for a new track in the not too distant future, well hopefully.
