This is part 2 of the original
films made in the late 50 period to explain to the USNAVY why the dvorak keyboard use by Morse Telegraphers would satisfy the requirements of quick training, fast operation and reduyction of errors, most importanat in those days for military users of keyboards. That lesson has been forgotten if you look at keyboards given to the military. The worse possible layout was proiven by Rick Nickells in a Master degree thesis at Lehigh University in the late 1970 .

  • Acdtually when I split the full film I made each peice to fit youtube, and it tourns out that the first half includes a piece of the sedond half, which itself starts again fromthe beginning.

Rush Holt if he would help support a move to introduce it legislatively to schools at he kindergardent laevel

  • lol this is awesome, hurray dvorak keyboards! too bad theres no sound...

  • This film was done by Dvorak in mid late forties, no sound in home movies then and I thought that adding sound even just music would be to spoil gthe effecdt. People would watch these in a group and talk among themselveds when watching silent movies.

  • WE NEED TO QUIT TELLING EVERYONE ABOUT THIS.

if we learn to do our jobs faster, then we need to keep it to ourselves so that we look better than our esteemed colleagues.

  • Where do I find the original film? This is fascinating.

  • Years ago I had some friends who were using the Dvorak keyboard layout. I thought about making the switch but never did. This video is making me think again about switching. It's good to keep the brain active learning new tricks. Or so I hear.

  • great film indeed ! I'am learning a french version of the Dvorak layout and it's fun ! xD

  • Great film! It doesn't matter the quality of the film - what is important is the concepts of Dvorak keyboard.
