I think she has really matured as an actress on this evidence.

I really hope she actually asked Jackie that. What an amazing thing that would have been to witness !! We will never know for sure, but it's totally plausible considering all parties involved.

I just watched the original documentary of these 2 ladies, filmed in the 1970's, and it is incredible how "dead-on" these perfromances are! Great acting by Lange and Barrymore.

This is the best scene in the film, chiefly due to Jeanne Tripplehorn’s performance as Jackie.

the funny thing is...at one point, Al Maisles quipped with the real Edie on camera who would play Edie, and he mentioned Ethyl Barrymore (Drew's great aunt), but Edie said that she didn't want anyone to play her....though, in my own (humble) opinion, Drew was spot on all the way through....except for the anger...

ok Drew CRACKS me up in this movie. First off the gonorrhea line, you can see Drew shining through a little there like she's gonna start laughing. And then I love how she's says 'Jack..' at 1:21. So many little lines that she nails and makes hilarious. And nevermind her SPOT ON embodiment of little Edie. Amazing. Drew has come a long way. I think she said in an interview with Dave L once that she 'can't act'. Well, that's not true anymore (if ever it was)
