i can understand why they cut it from the movie, because they were pressed for time- but come on: they could have at least put it on the soundtrack!!!

@rainbowzebera Erik, actually. :) They didn't say his name in the movie (they only reffered to him as "Phantom" / "Opera Ghost" etc.) In the book by Gaston Leroux, his name is revealed as Erik.

they shouldnt have cut this. it gives the Phantom just enough humanity. people need to understand that he wasnt all bad. yes he was a murderer, and he could very well have been insane. but he did love christine. he wasnt just some creepy guy living in the catacombs of an opera house. he was a broken man rejected by an ignorant world for something that was totally out of his control. he was looking for someone to love and understand him,and that someone, in his mind, was christine. end of story.
