@capie44 Well, thanks, but Tim Burton doesn't want anything to do with the classic movie. He just made his own version because he wanted to.

I haven't seen ALL of the original movie, but I can see which parts where different from the book. I have read the book and I can reffer back to Tim Burton's movie version, and they're quite alike and so are some song lyrics (only since it's a movie version of the book, there' BOUND to be some changes).

But as far as the two movies, TB's version was a rape of a classic (movie).

Tim Burton just made HIS version of the book, because the original classic, as I heard, didn't follow much of the book. So because of Tim's imagination and vision, he made this film much MORE like the book in it's rather-true form.
