  • Thank you for posting this vid. It's a big nostalgia flash for me becauseI saw them live at Basin Street East in NYC when I was there for two weeks, my 18th birthday present from my parents. I was in the audience when they were recording the Live At Basin St. East album.

Yolande invited me and my two Louisville friends over to her apartment on St. Marks Place for ice cream one afternoon. A truly charming, talented lady who also acted Shakespeare at the Old Vic Theater in London.

  • thank u, kind person!! ! !!!

  • why isnt there more songs like this?

  • When was the last time you saw a singer in a sari ?

  • Thanks for posting. Ms. Bavan was my dad's first wife and I only discovered she was a renown entertainer a few years ago. I have a few old pics of her I plan to compile in a video and post of she and my pops in London where they lived. Thanks again!

  • @Savorist I'd be happy with even a quarter as good, man.

  • great like em better with annie

  • Outstanding. Bavan is great!

  • Wow, Lambert's moves rival Michael's. And when he's standing just keeping time, he's got that thing going of staying on the backs of both heels and tapping his toes side to side on the off-beats. Try it (not easy). Ironic that he ultimately didn't get out of the way of an irresponsible driver. And the sad ends of Eddie Jefferson and Clarence Beeks. But Hendricks remains the eternal optimist. This must be with Bavan at Newport. I think Annie Ross may still be at it but never a great solo act.

  • Jon wrote and put on a play in San francisco, i think it was called "The Birthof the Blues"; it was a huge success. After that he went on the road, doing solo stuff and also vocal group stuff. I sang in the group in the mid 80's.

  • Simply great...

    From which concert is this?

is the complete set available on cd/dvd?

  • Why haven't I heard this before!
