  • No Bonnie tyler did this first before anyone on her 1988 album Notes from America It also had the song The Best which she had the hit before Tina. tina must have been a fan of Bonnie tyler I had the album this and the best came from. Also on the same album Bonnie was also the first to do saving up all my tears before Cher Had the hit.

  • @mrbroadway0711 Tina recorded it in 1986 as a b-side for typical male, it was written for Tina by Diane Warren

  • @mrbroadway0711 "Don't Turn Around" is a popular song written by Diane Warren and Albert Hammond. It was originally recorded by Tina Turner as the B-side to the single "Typical Male" in 1986. Warren is said to have been disappointed that Turner's record company treated the song as a B-side and never included it on one of her albums. However it has since been included on the rarities disc of the 1994 compilation The Collected Recordings – Sixties to Nineties.

  • @mrbroadway0711 However you are indeed correct about the best, bonnie did do that song first.

  • Where was the performance in the video, and what was the song Tina was singing on state?

  • @mindracer1 performance was at divas 99 for vh1, song was simply the best, I love the entrance, it truely is the best!

  • @mrbroadway0711 no darlin !! tina recorded dont turn around 2 years before bonnie ... this song was recorded on tipycal male sigle on (vinyl side b ) and it was 1996 i adore tyler too

  • what a voice... Tina > Beyonce

  • Introduced to this song by Ace of Base in 1993, then found out it was a cover of an Aswad song about 5 years later. Now a further 13 years later and I find out that that was a cover as well.

I'm thinking of starting a blog for "songs that you didn't know were covers". A few months back I heard the original version of Vengaboy's "We're going to ibiza" ("I'm going to Barbados") which was a bit of a shocker as well.

  • This song has been covered so many times, I heard the versions by other artists, each much more than Tina's original.

  • wow i never heard this song... i love this <3

  • wrong...Tina's version was the original in 1986. Bonnie Tyler didn't release her version till 1988.
