I love the Sigma SS109 brush. It doesn't shed. You might be using your brush wrong. Do you press down too hard when you applying your liquid or powder products? That can be a problem. And the shampoo you wash your brush with can make it shed if it's too harsh.

I have the Sigma 197 flat top synthetic brush, and it doesn't shed at all...didn't shed one bristle when I first washed it and I have used and washed it multiple times since and it hasn't shed. Synthetic brushes normally don't shed. I love it! It is a dream for liquid and powder foundation...but for powder it will be super full coverage unless you use very little product and a slight hand. :D

Is there a synthetic version of the MAC 109 brush anywhere? Synthetics normally don't shed as much, if at all.
I recently bought the Sigma 197 flat top brush, synthetic, and doesn't shed at all....it is a dream for applying either powder or liquid foundations. I haven't tried it for cream foundation yet, and I am looking for something more like the 109.....do you have a good recommendation for a good brush for cream compact foundation? Thanks so much!

i'm sorry about ur mac 109 brush sheds alot..but my mac 109 brush never shed (maybe i just lucky)

with the friends and family mac sale coming up, I am going to get the 109 brush from them, it just makes more sense. I keep thinking of getting the sigma, but hesitate for sure, better to get the real thing.
