  • @DougRosales: Try again. Go and do some SERIOUS research. Queens has an immense *CHINESE* population and it's "Chinatown" BY SHEER VOLUME is THE biggest "Chinatown" in NORTH AMERICA.

Now if you really want to be technical then Monterey Park and Alhambra in the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angelese probably the biggest "Chinatown" in North America.

I've been to all of them and I know by simply going thru them.

  • The largest Chinese community is in L.A. County. However, they do not congregate in stereotypical run-down "Chinatowns".

  • Factually, San Francisco's Chinatown is the largest in the U.S., Flushing, Queens is not larger than Manhattan's. It's not even larger than the huge 2nd Chinatown out in San Francisco's Richmond district. That city is a heavily populated by chinese. Roughly a third of its residents alone are Chinese, and there are at least 6 Chinatowns (historical chinatown, the Richmond, Tenderloin, Taraval corridor, the Judhah, and Visitacion Valley) and counting!

  • Not surprisingly, both San Francisco's website and New York City's website each claim they have the largest Chinatown. Wikipedia and many other websites give the edge to San Francisco, but it appears that the two populations are very close, probably within 10% of each other as of the 2000 census. Since our Author is a resident of San Francisco, she prefers to accept the San Francisco website's claim. As to Flushing in Queens, the New York City website calls it a "satellite",

  • Factually the "Largest Chinatown" in America is the one in Flushing, Queens in New York City.
