Words and Music by Mitchell J. Rickey...
Lyrics...
There should be a sign, on every American assembly line sayin' "Parts and Labor ...Homegrown."
Factory would and scars, I feed my family building Motor City Cars sayin' "It's time we take care of our own."
I Drive What I Build, how 'bout you? I Pledge Allegiance to the Red White and Blue. I wear my Country's colors, like an old tattoo. I Drive What I Build, why don't you?
I buy my cars, where I get paid. I have no faith in the government's free trade. Got nothin' against foreign lands but, they don't buy the U.S. brands.
I Drive What I Build, how 'bout you? I Pledge Allegiance to the Red White and Blue. I wear my Country's colors, like an old tattoo. I Drive What I Build, why don't you?

  • Great song! Too bad there's no such thing as a patriotic corporation. How bout a song about international autoworker solidarity? About how we aren't going to fall for their race to the bottom wage competition tactics of pitting workers against workers, whipsawing hardworking families in countries all over the globe. As workers, we have the power to change the system. As consumers, we have the power to double-down on the same old scheme. Thanks again for sharing. Peace & Solidarity. PD

  • Good tune...Needs airplay!

  • Our family drives cars built by American workers, not government owned car companies whose previous owners and unions ran the companies into the ground.

Nothing against the workers, but the government bailouts of Chrysler and General Motors guaranteed that our family will never purchase either.

My allegiance is pledged to a true free market and individual liberty, not the central authority which usurped our Constitution and flag.
