A pump action shotgun is the first choice for many in law enforcement, corrections, certain military applications, and home defense. In this GunTec presentation Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO of MidwayUSA, presents one of the most famous pump action shotguns ever produced, the Winchester Model 1897. The particular model presented is a riot gun, featuring a 20 inch barrel along with a 6 round magazine. Winchester produced this model from 1897 to 1957 with over a million guns produced in total.

  • @GageReckart ...I saw an original 1897 in VG condition at the Greensboro Gun Show for $900. They've gone through the roof in price. Trench models with bayonnet lug can go even higher. If you don't mind a reproduction, some really good ones are being made by Norinco ( sold through I.A.C. Inc.), Chaparral(Italy), and Cimmarron Arms. Most of the reproductions, especially Chi-Com Norincos, are also made with better steel than the originals. Machining not as good though.

  • @dills2403 I agree with that

  • They're about 3 times as much as a 30"

  • can someone tell me where i can find a riot barrrel for my winchester model 12

  • Good for house cleaning.

  • @GageReckart I imagine that they would be about the same as a regular 1897, which is $450. It is mentioned in the other video by MidwayUSA on the same firearm.

  • How much are these?

  • Got one of these in the house. Love it! Its what I learned to shoot Clays and Squirrels with.

  • @251251 haha, indeed! :D
