TAKE NOTE: I *only* own the base game, so there were some things that I wanted to do (like place furniture diagonally or stack clutter) that I couldn't do.
To get rid of the plumbobs/speechbubbles I used a hack from simlogical.com
Made for Jennese's and Oritasho's Machinima competition.
I know that I didn't have to concentrate on story, but I can't help it, it's sorta my 'style' to do so (I've never made a music video, I figred since this will be my first, might as well =/ ).
The story (*READ AFTER WATCHING*)
Dario (the red head) and his partner Gus (the brunette) were victims of a hate crime. Gus dies and the incident caused Dario to have brain damage, specifically the 'fusiform'; it is a part of the brain which plays an important part in face recognition. (without it, a person can't tell the difference between one person to another)
The therapist talks to him about the possible effects of a damaged fusiform. (the 'effects' shown here are sort of fiction, in here he loses the ability to recognize faces slowly, I'm not sure if there were cases like this in real life).
Little by little, he starts to have difficulty remembering parts of Gus' facial features, so Dario paints a picture of Gus from one of his fondest memories (Their first date) but soon his mind begins to mess up and it is unable to form the face of his loved one.
Dario, having suffered from all of this, commits suicide. (I know, not very original eh?)
In death he meets Gus and they re-unite.
I was going to add in voice overs at the end, but decided that it might risk ruining the video a bit, it was going to go something like this:
Dario: I'm sorry it's all my fault!
Gus: Shh...
Dario: I should've been stronger
Gus: it's not your fault
Dario: Don't ever leave me again
Gus: I won't....I promise (show painting)

There's quite a bit of symbolism here and there, but I'm a little tired to explain it all, I spent all night trying to finish this, and as you may have noticed it gets choppy at some parts, especially towards the end, this is because my computer was running out of disk space- it almost died T_T- hopefully you still enjoyed it and it doesn't bother you too much.
Funfact: Dario and Gus were named after two directors who's work I love 'Dario Argento' and 'Gus Van Sant', their stuff is often pretty artsy.
No copyright infringement intended but I think I'm able to use it in terms of 'fair use' right? since it's not for profit?
The song (just like it says in the credits) is called 'Smile' by 'Olive'
Have a nice day!

Beautiful and so touching :)
I'll admit, I'm not a usual fan of the "love conquers all" theme, but when used in a more unique context like the one you developed here, it's really refreshing :D
Editing-wise, I can't really judge very well, but I really liked your effects at 0:17, 0:42, the eerie coloring of the flashback, 1:31-1:35, 2:38, 3:03 and of course the beautiful ending shot of the painting!
You and this project both deserve a lot of credit :)
