This song makes me think how close he was to finding his true self as an artist that would emerge on Turnstiles. Roberta and Last of the Big Time Spenders are the real gems of this album. The other songs are interesting but lacking his real identity.
@jer1er The Entertainer lacks "identity" lol? It's once of his signature songs. If any song has identity it's that one.

I think if you listen to the words carefully, you'll get that Roberta is a stripper not a prostitute.
