i have been enjoying the posts from the trip,

this may seem a bit random but.

i was thinking about how Christians arent supposed to bow before idols and such, like a Buddha etc.

is it ok for a Christian to bow to other humans like the Japanese do? pretty much the same as a handshake.?

I guess that all depends on what's in the heart of the one doing the bowing.

I, for one, have always seen that as a respectful handshake greeting.

So, I suppose it's debatable.

when a man proposes to his girlfriend, it is a custom or tradition or whatever, to go to 1 knee and propose, is this not good for a Christian to do?

i ask because i am serious about this type of thing.

I can honestly say that's never occurred to me before.

I hardly think it's an idol worshipping type of situation, but again I guess that all depends on the heart condition of the one doing it.
