Retouching shouldn't be banned, but there should be a disclaimer letting people know that it has been retouched.

wow amazing ! the media and hollywood is all fake and to control your mind in the first p0lace it shouldnt be taken seriously, people need to focus on the more important things in life, like pleasing God and doing the right thing and feeling beautiful inside first. The outside is nothing, just a first impression and a perception. Its truly sad, its all fake so dont worry about it !

There are different degrees of retouching. I think making skin clear of zits is ok, but changing breast size, bone structure, eye size etc. is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND DELIBERATELY DECEPTIVE ON A FAR MORE SERIOUS SCALE. Acne is temporary in most cases. Moles can be removed surgically or with computer retouching--no big deal. Don't these people know the truth comes out eventually? If you saw an older actor on the street, you would see the ruddy complexion, crows feet etc. Why lie?

Photos have been manipulated since way before PCs were invented. Dodging and burning poorly exposed areas for instance. Necessary in many cases for realistic images because cameras can't "see" the brightest and the darkest areas at the same time just like human eyes can't. HOWEVER, CGI is ruining the integrity of the visual arts due to non-disclosure. You can't believe anything you see on TV or in movies anymore. DISCLOSURE SHOULD BE MANDATED BUT CAREFULLY AND FAIRLY.
