  • Why he does not play songs like Out and In, The Sunset, Sun is still shinning, Candle of life, Lost in a lost world, My Song, House of Four Doors Intro or others? Those songs have very good and memorable mellotron sound. How is it we are here? Regards to Michael Pinder from the Dominican Republic

  • @chrisbern75 He's using a volume pedal. I use to be in a band that had a Mellotron. We put it through an echoplex and it sounded like heaven.

  • Hold yer horsas!

  • @acousvnt I would be great! I wonder how controlls he this attack. Normally they are fast attack but Mike Pinder makes it softer and I don't know how. Thank You.

  • @chrisbern75 I think if the beginning of the tape isn't lined up right, then it's cutting off the soft beginning of the note and making it more abrupt. I would ask Dianna (the filmmaker) to be sure.

  • @acousvnt But I didn't understand it. How does he control the attack? Is it his modification?

  • Very glad to have been there for this. I got to play that unit for around five minutes after everything was over, which made my month!

  • The only copy of Opeth's "Mellowtron Heart" got DMCAd.

  • Ship it to me and I'll make it right. It should play perfectly for all sounds. I can make it sound better than new.

  • The tape alignment is set perfectly - for the flutes. As all the notes on the tapes don't line up exactly, one has to pick a sound (of the 3) and set it so it's perfect. On this machine, the tapes are set up for the flutes. "Terrible machine" - not really. I love the sound of the MkII but the 400 is much more reliable.
