Good tutorial for the most part. I would say that you should move the anchor point of the card to the corner and place that between your fingers. That way, when you position it and then rotate it, you don't have to reposition it. You can just rotate from the best point of rotation which is the bottom corner. Also, rotoscoping your fingers seems like a lot of work. Can't you just mask off a small triangle from the bottom corner of the card?

I shot with the Panasonic HVX200 in 24p native mode.
