  • OMG I love the word therefore. It's so fuckin' awesome!

  • holy shit i go to this school omg

  • @SteveAndIdiAmin,

If you're such an English major, then should you not know that the noun being pluralized is not 'leaf', but a noun based on the name (Maple) Leaf, Canada's national symbol. It is therefore headless, as it is a noun based on a word that is not a noun, and so it does not acquire an irregular plural. Thus the plural is correctly "(Maple) Leafs", just as you say "Florida Marlins" rather than "Florida Marlin".

I recommend you read "The Language Instinct" (c5) by Steven Pinker.

  • The strength of the English language lies in its flexibility. Either is correct.

    Just like Dwarfs or Dwarves.

  • lol, I used to play in the high school band and jazz band, I played bass and guitar though so I was always in tune.

The rest of the band sucked ass, except the jazz band which was the best regular band members and the music teachers friends.

  • ouch my ears hurt ... what a terrible job to be a high school music teacher.

  • Does ANYONE notice that this steve guy is always writing essays for other youtube users? He must not have much to do with his life.

  • At least we know how to use contractions properly, you half-wit.

Besides, I hardly think it's the role of someone who follows a team that spells the plural of "leaf," L-E-A-F-S. to call others "retarded." (They should be called the "Leaves," because every year the team LEAVES the ice before the playoffs start.)

Gotta love the "Leaves." Still shaking off the effects of that Stanley Cup hangover from 1967...
