Acclaimed filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen deliver their most gripping and ambitious film yet in this sizzling and supercharged action-thriller. When a man stumbles on a bloody crime scene, a pickup truck loaded with heroin, and two million dollars in irresistible cash, his decision to take the money sets off an unstoppable chain reaction of violence. Not even west Texas law can contain it. Based on the novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy, and featuring an acclaimed cast led by Tommy Lee Jones, this gritty game of cat and mouse will take you to the edge of your seat and beyond - right up to its heart-stopping final act.

You obviously didn't understand the movie at all. Moss was concentrated on Anton, but he didn't see the danger from the Mexicans. He got the offscreen death because it wasn't what you were expecting. If he had gotten it then it would just be him being shot by the mexicans. The entire ending of the movie is about how Ed Tom was accepting death. It was really obvious from the scene with his uncle. Seriously, rewatch the movie and listen to the dialogue. Not all movies have a happy ending.

I really like seeing all the arguments occurring in the comments concerning the meaning of this movie. Half of them are started because someone said they didn't like the ending, and then someone proceeds to tell that person he/she just can't understand the brilliance of it all. Ever think the point of ANY movie is to make up your own opinions, and to respect the opinions of others? Nope? Okay.

I don't even like SpongeBob and I just don't like when people say my ideals or views are stupid because they don't fit with your views and ideology. Again that kind f stuff would work but not for this type of movie for something like The Departed where everyone are almost on even ground as far as how much of a threat they are but Antoine isn't just a guy he is like a real life boogyman hence why his character was so great and memorable

I see your point, very astute, fuck me and such... friendo, but I'm not the one expecting every movie to be like every other movie, and am refreshed to see the typical showdown plot turned on it's head. I said that it's perfectly reasonable to dislike this movie for silly reasons, so there's no need to get your spongebob undies in a bunch ;).

Now who the fuck do you think you are to say my reason's are silly? And yes maybe I do focus on the character because guess what it is a very character heavy story. the while plot is about the characters and how the actions of one affect the other. So fuck you for saying my reasons are stupid.

Except this movie is NOTHING like Halloween, if you don't want people to undermine your intelligence, try not to say such stupid things. Your obsession with Chigur's role in this movie is a symptom of OCD at best, that's fine, you're allowed not to like something, I just think it's for silly reasons. We can conclude this ridiculous discussion now I think.

best way to describe it is if in Halloween after Laurie had survived all her encounter's with Michael only to get killed by accident cause a poodle jumped up on her which pushed her over a window and she fell breaking her neck.

Simple because the movie itself build Antoine as the most dangerous character in the story, who is more ruthless and cunning than anyone else in the story. Moss was able to survive each encounter on both wit and skill and then he was killed by a bunch of thugs, usually this might not have been an issue if someone like Antoine didn't exist in the story but he did.

Well that's your subjective opinion, whether it was a good ending or a bad ending. It just seems stupid to dislike the ending because the main character wasn't killed by the particular antagonist(out of many) you would have preferred him to be killed by, and I don't see how it takes away from the story at all, or takes away from the character of the main antagonist. The story is seen from multiple perspectives, like life is, and I think that's what makes this a great movie.
