  • Definitely taken out of context. It was merely just an assessment of that time period. I think Newt disagreeing with something is a good thing and here's why. Liberalism by definition is a group of people that agree with eachother even if they disagree. This is also called a mob. Newt disagreeing with something shows he is open to ideas and is free thinking and truly cares about the issues because he won't bow down to appease his friends for their moment of stupidity. • @147DegreesWest Well said imo and Kudos 4 posting it .

  • This clip is taken out of context.

  • @bjknotts I agree it could be interpreted that way, but it can also be interpreted as newt implying Reagan had an unfavorable record and that if Bush ran as a continuation of it, then Bush would lose (i.e., why would voters want something "new" if what Reagan did was successful?). Hence, this would be bashing. Because it is subjective, the Drudge label was not necessarily incorrect or misleading, even though you have a different interpretation. Though, as you say, newt has bigger prob's...

  • @cureloms I'm really not trying to be anal with you. I apologize to you if you think that is what I'm trying to be. In context - Newt is saying Bush should not run on a continuation of Reagan because the American people would want him to do his own thing. This is not Reagan bashing - but Drudge implied it was. To be clear though, Newt has far more things that are worthy of keeping him from being president than this - i.e. government mandates. It should never have been made into an issue.Ya know?

  • @bjknotts among other things, newt said that if bush ran on continuing what reagan did, then bush would lose. whether or not newt "bashed" Reagan in this clip is a debatable issue. newt certainly didn't speak highly of Reagan's presidency is the point. would it make you happier if we said newt spoke dismissively about reagan's tenure? we are really parsing words here...

  • @cureloms Again - THIS video in THIS CONTEXT is not Reagan bashing. That is the issue I debate. That was my point and remains my point.

  • @Jermetrice

Wrong. I have no preference for whoever comes out of this race. I have, however, deduced that this vid IS biased, and that nothing in it suggests that he "bad-mouthed" Reagan.

Congratulations, you've managed to demonstrate the same lack of comprehension that the previous poster did.
