Today, June 8th, 2010 - This is my second video cover of Hilton Head Island's coastline. This video is of Mitchellville Beach Park on the north end of the island facing Port Royal Sound. Low Tide is the best time to visit this beach. As you can see it was a beautiful sunny day. Weather - upper 80's, winds, 10 miles per hour, sunny, blue skies. Water - warm, clean, clear. Great for tanning, finding seashells, walking. Sharks like to feed here so swimming is not advised.
Thank you for watching my video :)

  • i was there!! i got so frustrated with that beach though because at low tide it goes out ike 1/2 a mile or sometin and something brushed against my leg so i got mad and went back up to look for shells. beautiful beach though!! aweome seashells!

  • @mandi3031 and the sand is squishy at low tide :) I like the tide pools during low tide :) Have you gone to the other beaches on the Island?

  • Wow! That sure looks familiar. I was stationed at Ft Stewart Ga for several years. The heat was brutal but there was a certain beauty to the area, especially in fall when the leaves changed color. Where I live it's always green and the forests are almost 100% pine.

  • @vention4wh Ive been to Ft. Stewart many times :) Most ppl. talk about how brutal the summers are at Ft. Stewart. Thank goodness for the ocean breeze on the coast. The oil needs to stay away from the s.e. coastal beaches. The oil spill has me worried. The prettiest leaf change I have seen is in the Smokey Mtns. of N.C. absolutely breath taking :)

  • The oil's not supposed to go around the Florida Keys and up the Atantic coast of Florida for another 2 weeks or so.

The oil probably won't reach Georgia and South Carolina til late July.

  • @PaulHartXYZ I hope it NEVER reaches the S.E. coastline. I want to get as much footage as I can of Hilton Head Island beaches without oil just in case oil does arrive on our coastline. I did read where the oil could hit the s.e. coast around 7/17/10.

  • @anastasia81472 Not anymore? It was soooo gorgeous on the beach, perfect weather, quiet, the water was warm, low tide so I really got to check out the condition of the sand/ocean, all looked beautiful, just hope the oil doesnt get into the loop current and send oil up the s.e. coast

  • I used to sell vacation packages to Hilton Head.
