  • @OntologicalQuandary Almost all programs you apply to are "PhD" programs. You do complete a masters on the way but it is a little bit like finishing a Associates on the way to a B.S.

  • so he went straight from undergrad to Phd? Is there no master's level in astronomy?

    I am thinking about doing astronomy ^_^

    If not, a PhD especially in scientific fields is incredibly difficult and tedious to achieve. A PhD student means he is striving towards his PhD, but hasn't earned it yet.
