There is an actual human being in that costume. The plan was he would use newspaper and stuffing to maintain the shape of the Scream mask while protecting his head from the tennis racket. However, when I called "Action" and the camera rolled, non of us knew how hard our tennis player would swing and how directly he would nail Chris on the head. We didn't do a 2nd take, but we didn't need to after seeing how great that 1st shot was. Chris was hurting, but he didn't mind taking one for the team.
