You're right. I got the order confused since I thought "The Priest Killer" was the pilot. Thanks for the correction.

@greg6363 : Not really...the Sarge character first appeared in the TV-movie "Sarge: The Badge or the Cross?", which aired originally on 2/22/71. That was followed by another movie, "The Priest Killer", where Sarge teamed with Ironside, airdate 9/14/71. The following week was the debut of the short-lived Sarge series.

Thank you for posting this clip. I was styudying for the priesthood at the time this show was aired. Too bad it lasted only half a season...
