Jerry Garcia/Grateful Dead Lesson, Big River, 8/13/754 Note for Note

A lesson that breaks down Jerry Garcia's solo on Big River from the Grateful Dead's concert at the Great American Music Hall on August 13, 1975. This was Jerry's first solo that comes about a minute into the song. I play it though up to speed and slow it down so you can catch up with all the subtle things that made Jerry great. If you want I have tabs available for a very small fee. I just ask that you please don't post the tabs on other websites.

There is a book that I have that has American Beauty tabbed out. It's most of the tunes. It was published by Warner Brothers in 1991 (I think) I think it's out of print but you could still find it. I think it's a little hard to read but it's mostly right. There are some parts that are omitted and that drives me crazy.

I love this lesson. I have never paid much attention to Big River becasue of the Help Slip Franklins in that concert, but I would love to buy the tab. What do I do? My wife has a paypal account.

@steeltunes I would love to have the tabs for this. It's hard to watch this and pick up on it. I am not a beginner but not a pro by any means at all. Never stop learning. Learn this one and it could really set you up for almost anything Dead.

great lesson! do you know what jerry plays for the opening riff before the words come in? it sounds easy but i cant figure it out! also i'm prolly gonna send you $2 for the transcription. ironically i was working on both big river and brown eyed women last nite and i see you have both of those in your videos!
