I was in the path of sandy. Several houses around me burned down. Every house had feet of water in it. We didn't have electricity or gas for weeks. So don't tell me that Sandy didn't cause devastation. I live on the coast of Long Island. Republicans are actually voting right not to block flood insurance and aid to people that were affected. Don't tell me that sandy didn't cause devastation.

ToastyConner were you in the path of Hurricane Katrina? I was. FEMA wasn't set up to do business in 10 days. We didn't have electricity or phone service. My sister lives in Lakeview in New Orleans and she had 11 feet of water in her house. The water didn't go down for weeks. It took months before FEMA worked with my sister and her husband. Piles of paperwork. I live on the coast of Mississippi. Devastation all along the western coast. The smell of death was in the air.

Imbeciles? Listen to what he says at 0:21 - he DOES compare disasters. And just so you know, they were NOT here "within days." You can't mobilize a large contingent that quickly. That's where the states, with their National Guard assets come into play. They should be prepared in advance and move out as soon as the storm passes - bringing food and water. They have that ability. Reid shouldn't compare Sandy to ANYTHING, instead, focus on getting them help - NOW. Where's Obama? Oh yeah, on vacation
