gnay niy or niy gnay either way its all how yu see ....why did I buy a T- shirt today w/ this symbol on the back.......

We put things in boxes and think of them as good and bad. Rather, we should only "see" life as it is... and learn that the real bad is "not seeing"

@bushcrap2019 Further more the pantheon of the religion are all representation of nature in 1 form or another... so there's a common understanding that regardless of how you choose to perceive the world, the order of nature is everything. Also in philosophy perspective, there's no such thing as a true 'Daoist' whether u read the TTC or not.
Btw, while there's rituals to observe... there's no rules & commandments. so 'traditional dogma' is no really a correct way to put it. :D

@BioCapsule I believe you are correct, in most cases in HK a self proclaimed Daoist in a family does not usually teach any Daoist philosophy(they may never even read Tao Te Ching seriously), but rather shamanic and traditional dogma, which could explain my confusion.

@bushcrap2019 Actually the philosophy didn't evolve into the religion... over the course of thousand of yrs it merged with the existing shamanic folk religion mainly because the attitude held by the religious side is closer to 'agnostic' than 'theistic' so they do not experience the type of conflict Abrahamic do... the religion does not do dogma or proselytize, its about respect... not belief. The conflict of Abrahamic is borderline insane in our perspective.
