The ABSOLUTE two best 'PLAYERS" in Nashville.

The Musician's Union has a book of "scales" for each town. This prescribes the lowest amount that a musician can charge for his services for gigs, sessions, etc. You can ask whatever you wish above that. Paul can ask whatever he wants, and he will get it.

@chriswhitehead triple scale is just 3X the average rate of a session player, a lot of these guys like bassically who you see in this video charge 3 times a normal rate cause theyre so great at what they do. unless thats my knowledge of it.
Sorry guys....but when I watch 2 "masters" deliver such a touching song as this, flawlessly, zero mistakes, with such passion...I just can't bring myself to think about the subject of money. Do you not understand that we are watching two of the greatest musicans every to grace this planet performing here?

@Kenny12554 Yup we do ;) The subject of money only started when i mentioned that if i ever won the lottery (some hope) I would like to get Paul Franklin and Mark Knopfler together for a monster gig. This is a wicked vid - that is why i posted it ;)

Maybe if people just kicked back and enjoyed the music the world would be a better place. Who cares what he was paid, it's the love of playing that drives the true musician. I've seen Robert Randolph live he is great with the style he plays. Check out the Cambell brothers his mentors.

@deathbysixes8 Thanks for the tip about Robert Randolf, i have seen him before but hadnt thought to do a search on here for him. I think the thread about pay started when i suggested that if i won the lottery, he would be the musician i would want to book for a party. Still we can all dream ;)
