I am showing this as an introduction to reading the novel The Grapes of Wrath. It was wonderful to have actual narrated passages from the text to accompany the images of families that resemble the Joads. Thank you!

Gosh, I wish my grandpa was still around to show this to! He'd sure be tell some stories...When he was born, the place was called The Indian Territory. He passed away June 25th, 2001

Great Job! I just read "Worst Hard Time" by Timothy Egan. This video brings it alive. I do have to question "post-depression" comment though- the Dust Bowl era seemed to accompany the Great Depression in lock step.

The films made by Pare Lorenz are good to watch to see how it looked like in The Depression. The videos made by Pare Lorenz were the Documentary videos, it was for people back then as we do watch now documentary films in the Discovery channel.
