Jeremy Ray Borders - "Egyptian Storm" - 2010 - INSANE FAST AWESOME PIANO

BUY ME HERE!! http://www.reverbnation.com/store/index/artist_843642There is a COOL STORY behind this piece: 2 days before I moved to NYC I was going into the studio to record some music...the night before my recording I was thinking about doing some kind of improv just for fun...so I sat down at the piano and the first 7 notes I played struck me so much, I felt like God was saying, "THIS is your NEW SONG! Here's your theme!"...so obviously I just knew I needed to write an entire piece off these 7 notes (which sounded very Egyptian to me)...so the next day I went into the studio only having those first 7 notes in my head, and completely improved this piece...it came out so well I decided to write a cadenza in the middle section and call it "Egyptian Storm" (Its about an Egyptian soldier who goes into an enormous battle...he almost escapes death in the end, but the battle proved too tough.)

God is so great! Every concert this piece seems to be the crowd favorite...at this specific concert, a lady came up to me and said listening to this piece was like "being in the middle of a jungle and all around her, giant notes of sound were falling from HEAVEN!" .....It makes sense because God literally dropped these first 7 notes 'on me' the night before this piece was birthed. Really cool!

It's pretty amazing that you can play that fast but some parts sounded like you were just hitting random keys.

there are just a few sections that are mapped out to hit "random notes" ...it's actually written that way, though even within those sections, there's still a specific pattern and positioning I use...this is a very modern piece for sure :) ....thanks for watching!

Just because you can play that fast doesn't mean you should. Especially when the "very modern" piece you are playing sounds like crap.
