Thats how he was cast. Theres nowhere in the script that says he is any otherwise.

Riff Raff and Brad are great, and this Frank takes it to a level second only to Tim Curry. He's fantastic.

This is an amazing production. I love Riff Raff, and have no problem with Rocky being black... but Frank and Janet both over-act these roles like crazy.

but i think there was a reason he was blonde, tanned and blue eyed, look at all the references to germany, Dr Scott ("or should I say Doctor VON Scott!") trying to hide his german roots, Janet's surname, Weiss, and her reactions to Brad when he pronounces it as "Veiss", then there is Frank's idea of the "perfect man" being blonde haired, blue eyed, white, muscular etc... similar to Hitler's idea of the perfect race being blonde haired and blue eyed, if you get me.

This was my least favorite version so far. Not because of Rocky... It just wasn't that good overall. Thanks for posting!
