She is supposed to sound terrible. It's Verdi's intention to have Lady MacBeth sound as icy and evil as possible.

Did she choose to sing everything straight-toned for a dramatic effect? I think it sounds god awful. Poor Bruson, to have to sing with a laser. He is magnificent.

Come on, you're watching something up close that is meant to be read from a large distance. Facial expressions are fine. Lots of great musical detail in this performance. So happy this is posted.

Bruson is great both vocally and with restrained acting. Zampieri holds her own vocally, but overdoes the facial expressions. Good performance overall
