The Bible has given clear direction on how we are to worship HIM....and folks, it is not like this! Don't make God into who you want Him to be....He has given us the Bible to guide us in all areas of our life.
Opinions are like a lot of things that everyone has, and each is valid to the person that holds it. What may be obvious to you might not be so to another. God's house is big enough to hold many different methods of praising Him.
There are times to praise God loudly and other times it is for us to Worship God quietly and listen to His Spirit. If the band only edifies it self then its allself and not worship at all. Take the band off the stage and let them play on the side and see if they are intouch with God or if its all EGO.
The common misconception is that the gifts we have are exclusively given to us to worship God. The gifts all of us have are for the edification and enjoyment of His church. It's perfectly appropriate for His church to jam together...this is essential for healthy body life. Thanks for posting, guys. Sounds great!
Your making an assumption which may or may not be correct there (about the loudness of the trumpets being greater). The question is, who is being praised? God, the guitar player, or SRV? It's pretty obvious it is not God.
In the Bible it says they made a joyful noise with hundreds of trumpets in celebration of Jesus... I am thinking that would be louder than this. Worship is a time for a joyful noise. And the Holy Ghost will work through folks when He chooses; quiet or loud.
This is a perfect example of how corrupt so many religions become. How in the world can you hear the peaceful promptings of the Holy Ghost in this loud atmosphere?
