It's the truth; Persians are not an Islamic people in their hearts - they are Zoroastrian. If it wasn't for the Arabs, Persians would still practice Zoroastrianism and Persia would not be an Islamic republic. Armenians used to be Zoroastrians as well.

Pride in one's history and culture should not blind one. Islam is not an "arab" reilgion; it is the last universily revealtion send to mankind. You can be a proud persian and a proud muslim, so why all the hate and self-division?

Observing most of the comments. I notice that the Persians that choose Zoroastrianism over Islam choose it not b/c they see it as the truth and a religion revealed by the creator( even though it could have been) but rather accept only because it was the reilgion of their forefathers. But do any of them try to honestly look at both reilgions and see the similarities and differences and actually study them?

what happened to iran ? It is birth place of so many religions (Mazdism, Mandaeism, Manichaeism, Mazdakism) today only one religion is existent Islam. An Arab religion, an Imperialistic religion, that makes demands on it followers and is not merely spirtual. The makes all it followers believe Saudi Arabia is the Holy land instead of their land, and that makes Arabic the scared Language. Persian, Iranians, such a glorious History but today the world Laughing stock !

For those people who still think that the prophet was born&died in Kurdistan, just stop saying that, that is the biggest joke i have ever heard. Those people haven't even read books, any trustable sources or didn't do any study by themselves. The prophet was born in the ancient place: Balkh (now inAfghanistan). French archaeologists have concluded that too. No any evidence of the prophet has been found in kurdistan. And the avestan language is also from the Balkh region. Not from kurdistan.
