In the past, PAP ruled by fear and blatant oppresion. And before that, we were still receiving uncensored information and not brainwashed under the PAP. So the old and experienced are VERY AWARE of PAP's nonsense.
However, PAP in the modern day uses indoctrnation tactics thru the media and schools to instill their nonsense "in a pleasant and comfortable way", so that our young are either ignorant and apathetic to them, or blindly and faithfully supportive of them.

As we can see, the young in Singapore are so apathetic towards public affairs, in fact to a ridiculous extent.
The uncle has voiced the view of many aged newspaper-reading citizens in Singapore who have gone through the LKY era and so are very interested and knowledgeable about PAP's nonsense. We Singaporeans were clever, we have become stupid over the years because of PAP brainwashing in education.
