My story:

I'm a wife and a dance instructor/choreographer. I've been struggling with my weight for the majority of my life. Especially being a dancer and around those skinny dancers I've had to hear that dancer body stereotype most of my life.

My weight gain kicked into over drive after I got married, went through some trials, had some injuries I was trying to work through and was miserable. I couldn't get off the couch. I was the woman in the dressing room crying because I couldn't find clothes that fit. I couldn't get a towel around my entire body.

I decided that enough was enough and started on a journey that changed my life. I'm so much more energetic, happy, mobile, active, functional, etc. I'm never going back to that place.

I've now lost 40lbs and 27inches and counting!

I wanted to share my story because I know there is more out there that were feeling the way that I did. Well, I did it and so can you! No more excuses! No more settling.

  • You gave me the motivation I need to get going on the Chalean videos though! I have them I just haven't really ever used them other than the one time to figure out how I was going to do the routine at the gym. Definately doable so I'm going to get off my butt and actually do eet!

  • Is that video taken before or after the loss? Well, in either case I say you are doing well out there. Great strength in the toes! Much better than I could ever do. I have 2 left feet and no dancing shoes. I never could dance, even as a kid. I was actually demoted in an after school dance class that I took at my elementary school. I was 8 and they put me in with the 5 year old class. Hehehe. I still try but I always spin the wrong direction in Zumba and the like. It's pretty sad. :)

  • @phall2008 LOL! You're so funny. If anything keep dancing for enjoyment. You know you secretly bop around when no one's looking. The video was done after the weight loss.

  • @itsmedancing Unfortunately I didn't get started as I had hoped, lost my job since I posted so my focus is on anything but dieting and working out. But I've got my rhythm and routine down now with regards to that so I'm going to start up Chalean either tonight or Wednesday. Since I do have some down time I was thinking about adding in a second workout. Any thoughts? I have a pretty extensive BeachBody collection, and also oddly enough an extensive dance workout collection.
